Welcoming Jake Whalley to the Refurbr Team
We’re pleased to announce the latest addition to the Refurbr team, Jake Whalley.
Jake joins us after spending the past two years working with the platform as a customer, so he already understands how tech refurb businesses rely on Refurbr to manage device lifecycles, inventory and resale operations.
From refurb operator to Refurbr team member
Jake’s journey into the team is slightly different from most new starters. Before joining Refurbr, he worked on the platform as part of his day-to-day operations, giving him direct experience of the challenges refurbishment businesses face in managing inventory, devices, and sales channels.
That experience means he brings a practical perspective to the role. He understands the workflows behind device grading, inventory tracking, returns processing and marketplace sales.
Since joining the team, Jake has quickly stepped into a hybrid support and development role, helping customers get the most from the platform while also contributing to its ongoing development.
That combination matters. The person helping you resolve an operational issue today could also be involved in building the feature that makes that workflow smoother tomorrow.
Real-world experience in tech refurbishment
Before joining Refurbr, Jake worked for a well-established retailer in the refurbished consumer electronics sector, where he became the go-to problem solver for operational challenges.
During his time there, he built practical software solutions and productivity tools designed to support refurb workflows across:
• Inventory management• Customer support operations• Returns and device processing• Marketplace integrations
He also worked closely with warehouse teams, operators and 3PL partners across Europe, helping coordinate the movement of devices through refurbishment, testing, resale and distribution.
This kind of hands-on experience is invaluable when building software for the tech refurbishment industry. It ensures the solutions we develop continue to solve real operational challenges rather than theoretical ones.
Supporting the future of tech refurb operations
Refurbr was created specifically for businesses that buy, refurbish and resell technology. The platform connects inventory, buybacks, device processing, sales channels and reporting into one unified system designed around refurbishment workflows.
Instead of juggling spreadsheets and disconnected tools, refurb businesses can manage the entire device lifecycle in one place, from sourcing and processing through to resale and reporting.
Jake’s experience working inside refurb operations will help us continue improving the platform as the industry grows and evolves.
What this means for Refurbr customers
For existing Refurbr users, Jake’s arrival means faster, more informed support from someone who already understands the realities of running a tech refurb operation.
He’s experienced the same operational pressures, the same workflow challenges and the same need for systems that simply work.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be introducing Jake to the wider Refurbr community, but feel free to reach out if you’d like to say hello in the meantime.
Welcome to the team, Jake.
